INVITATION TO PLAY: OPEN CLOSE OPEN, 2017

Interactive Installation

Bronx Museum of the Arts, NYC

79 small ceramic vessels constitute game pieces in a moveable grid, representing organs in the human body. The title is lifted from a poem by Israeli poet Yehuda Amichai that reflects on states of being open/closed/open during pre-birth/life/death, respectively. During Performance sessions I invite visitors to play with me. They make the first move and determine the length of the game. The game has no rules.
